COVID-19 Statement: Beginning June 29, 2020, Camarillo City Hall will be open to the public, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PLEASE NOTE: FACE COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED TO ENTER CITY HALL. Planning Division – Staff reviews site-specific development applications, for all commercial, industrial, and residential projects to ensure the uses meet the City's architectural, landscaping and development standards and comply with the City's growth ordinance, zoning and sign codes, and meets all applicable state and federal environmental guidelines.
Planning Commission – The role of the Planning Commission is to review and make decisions or recommendations to the City Council on various applications, including requests for annexation, subdivision development, requests and amendments to Zoning Ordinances, and the General and Specific Plans. Staff provides information and guidance to the Planning Commission, which is comprised of five City Council appointees.
Building and Safety Division – Staff reviews and inspects various building projects throughout the City, including new developments, interior remodels, additions, roofing, and other improvements.
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program - Staff oversees the funds that are used to address the needs of families, senior citizens and the homeless, as well as economic development and housing programs.
Code Compliance Division – Code Compliance staff are responsible for the enforcement of the City's Municipal Code and coordinating with the Camarillo Police Department and Ventura County Animal Services.
