Economic Development Collaborative
Whether you are starting a new business, or seeking help with an existing operation, Camarillo is home to an excellent assistance resource, at no cost to our businesses. The Economic Development Collaborative of Ventura County (EDC) and Small Business Development Center (SBDC) are based in Camarillo and have 30+ consultants with expertise in all facets of business operations. Advising opportunities include marketing, accounting, legal, hr, and more, including expanding into new domestic and/or foreign markets. The EDC also has its own loan program, having funded many businesses after they were declined for traditional bank financing.
During 2019, the consultants of the EDC SBDC assisted over 115 businesses in Camarillo; these, in addition to businesses that were helped in other cities throughout Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.
Another program assists startup businesses; EDC Invest pairs consultants of the EDC SBDC and Matter Labs with entrepreneurs to refine their products/technologies and business plans for investors. These business concepts are shared (confidentially) with over 200 potential investors, with an ultimate goal of securing funding. For more information on entrepreneurial resources, click here.
